Masa:
1) Hello, when is born your idea to create Ravensword on iPhone, iPod Touch ?
Josh:
The idea was started over 2 years ago with the first version of Ravensword for the PC, but 7 months ago, we started to create it for the iDevices. Originally it was a first person shooter – in fantasy style. Now its a single player adventure/RPG game.
Masa:
2) Did you project to release in an another device first ?
Josh:
First it was to be made on the PC – but we had many problems with it, specifically the animations of the characters.
So we decided to give up on the PC version, and went to the iPhone.
Masa:
3) How many peoples worked on Ravensword ?
Josh:
Mainly Russ Menapace and myself (Josh Presseisen). We had a few people help us along the way, who we contracted for certain things, such as concept art, some of the animations and characters.
Masa:
4) How long you worked on Ravensword ?
Josh:
Ravensword was in development for over 2 years, but only 7 months for the iPhone.
Masa:
5) What part of the game was the hardest to achieve ?
Josh:
For me it was making a large world that is all connected – and keeping the performance high on the older phones was tricky.
I think it worked out well, there have not been many complaints about performance.
Masa:
6) Do you think it’s possible to have better 3D engine ?
Josh:
We use the Unity Engine, and it is always progressing. There will be some new features of it as we release the next Ravensword.
Masa:
7) After i finished to play Ravensword i thought, this guys are fan of Zelda and Oblivion, aren’t not ?
Josh:
Yes, very much so. I believe that I have played every single Zelda – I am a big fan of the franchise. I’ve played Oblivion as well, but Russ is more into the hardcore western RPG’s such as Morrowind, Fable, etc…
Masa:
I finished the game in 7 hours and i bought Ravensword 5.49€. Have you been able to lengthen the life left in the game sell more?
Personally i could spend to 10€ for 10h-15 hours
Josh:
We are adding some secret areas to the update(1.1) which will contain some high level monsters and more treasure.
Theres another secret which I cannot mention until you play the updated game.
Masa:
9) Do you already have ideas about the next add-on ? Will you add more differents weapon, i mean more skins for bow, sword, armor ?
Josh:
We plan on reworking the entire game, for the Ravensword Expansion Pack. It will add more characters/races/classes to choose from, as well as skills to learn, more weapons and armor, a large new area to explore, and more beasts to slay.
It will probably be released sometime in Spring, 2010.
Thanks you to spend time to answers me.
J’espère que cela vous a plus. Personnellement il me tarde de voir débarquer la version 1.1 ^^.
Bon jeu.
